Summer School 2026
It was brilliant to see the research that is going on and take away ideas that can be used in research. We had a taster of life at Cambridge. It was good to hear from students with similar backgrounds and understand that I can do this too.
The most useful and enjoyable activity was the research presentations, they gave me an insight into various research topics some of which I will definitely look further into, it also helped me understand the methodology used to gather and interpret data which is transferrable through many different fields. I also really enjoyed the lab tours and the explanation of the different equipment used and the technology behind it. I enjoyed every part of it, the research presentations, the lab tours, the informal Q&As and PhD students sharing their own experience, it helped demystify PhDs, the application process, the research topics and overall helped me identify a potential career path. I also enjoyed connecting with the other summer school participants, the professors and the current PhD students. It answered all my questions I had about doing a PhD and life at the University of Cambridge. this experience was very memorable, I enjoyed every part of it and I highly recommend it.
Annie was amazing! In making us feel comfortable, welcome and supported. My favourite part was hearing from the museum professionals and how research is disseminated to public audiences. Thank you so much Annie and the CREATES team for making us feel incredibly supported and encouraged. It's been a great experience to understand how life is in Cambridge and how applying for a PhD is actually within reach. Thank you thank you!
Visiting the lab and attending the presentation was an interesting and informative experience. I enjoyed learning about the work being carried out in the lab and gaining a better understanding of the different processes and equipment used. The presentation was also engaging and helped me learn new things in an interesting way. Overall, it was a valuable experience that I found both educational and enjoyable. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity to visit the University of Cambridge and take part in the Summer School. It was a truly valuable and memorable experience, and I am very grateful for everything I learned and experienced during the programme.
