On Tuesday 12th May 2026, our NERC CREATES DLA and C-CLEAR DTP students presented posters about their research to visiting collaborating partners from various areas of industry. A very successful event of networking and discussing opportunities for internships and placements. Well done to all those who took part!
Kate, 3rd year C-CLEAR DTP student in the Department of Earth Sciences, discusses her research on the changing waters of the Arctic Ocean and the use of physical and chemical seawater properties from ship-based and autonomous observations to classify Arctic Ocean water masses.
Siming, 1st year CREATES DLA student in the Department of Zoology, explains her work on how social, ecological and behavioural factors affect how group decisions are made in wild bottlenose dolphins and investigating fitness consequences of group member contributions to collective decision-making.
Emma and Eva, both 1st year CREATES DLA students at SPRI, discuss their research; Emma looking at the relationship between vegetation and herbivores and their impact on carbon-cycling in the low Arctic, and Eva's using historic Antarctic arial photographs to measure long-term change in glacial mass.
