Helen Brooks (cohort 3, Geography) has been awarded a RCUK Policy Placement with the Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP).
Policy internships offer current research council-funded PhD students the opportunity to work in highly impactful host organisations on one or more policy topics relevant to both the student and the host. The student will be expected to produce at least one briefing paper, participate in a policy inquiry and/or organise a policy event, or equivalent piece of work. (from the NERC website)
Based at the University of Cambridge, CSaP (http://www.csap.cam.ac.uk/about-csap/) brings together public policy professionals and academics to learn from each other, building relationships based on mutual understanding, respect and trust. It is one of seven organisations hosting policy interns through the RCUK internship scheme.
